Happy 1st Anniversary Humberside Airport Travel!

The traditional way to mark a first anniversary is to exchange gifts made from paper but the staff at Humberside Airport Travel decided that a champagne toast was a much better way to celebrate what has been a fantastic year for the team as it celebrated its first anniversary.

The airport’s in-house, independent travel agency has gone from strength to strength since it first opened its doors on May 18, 2005. The agency has attracted customers from across the region thanks to the exceptional service offered by its highly qualified team, reaching the 3,000 passenger mark in less than 10 months of opening, which is an outstanding achievement within the travel industry.

The success of the team at Humberside Airport Travel can be attributed to the pride they take in finding the right travel package for each customer. Agency Development Manager, Amanda George, explains: “We believe that the holiday experience should start from the moment a customer steps through our door and that booking a holiday should be an enjoyable experience. We often get holidaymakers that have just returned to the airport fresh from their summer holiday and loved it so much that they want to book for the same place the following year!

“Helping customers find the right holiday or travel package for them is very important to us because we know how it feels to look forward to that two break in the sun. We want our customers to have an unforgettable experience and we can supply the expert knowledge to help them achieve this, providing advice on everything from where to eat, when to go and even what to pack.”

As an innovative and forward-thinking agency, Humberside Airport Travel is proud to support an initiative from The Freedom Travel Group and backed by the national charity, The Travel Foundation, which will help protect holiday destinations for generations of future travellers to enjoy. The team recently signed a pledge to do six simple things, including avoiding environmentally damaging souvenirs and using water sparingly, whenever they go on holiday. These things will minimise the potentially harmful impact on the environment and culture of the rich and varied destinations visited each year across the globe.

Amanda continued: “Taking this pledge is something that anyone can do and it is amazing that such small steps can make a big difference. Our commitment to promoting sustainable travel is just one of the developments that have helped to make our first year so memorable.”

Rob Goldsmith, Managing Director for Humberside Airport, commented: “It has been a remarkable year for Humberside Airport Travel and the whole team should be extremely proud of everything that they have achieved in a very short space of time, as are we. I have every confidence that the team will continue to build on the phenomenal success of the past year and I would like to say a special thank you to everyone that has helped to make Humberside Airport Travel such a success. Cheers!”
