Deborah Zost, Humberside Airport Managing Director, greeting Prince Charles as he arrives for his visit to Hull.
Humberside Airport was delighted to host a Royal visit earlier today, when their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall arrived at the airport to start their visit to Hull, the UK City of Culture 2017.
Prince Charles and Camilla will be visiting some of the city’s top attractions, including the newly-renovated Ferens Art Gallery, meet some of the Hull 2017 volunteers and visit Holy Trinity Church to meet teams involved in the church’s restoration, as well as meeting local charities and organisations.
Deborah Zost, Humberside Airport’s Managing Director, said: “Humberside Airport is delighted to welcome the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to the Humber region for their visit to the UK City of Culture 2017.
“We pride ourselves in providing a great impression of the region for all users of the airport and we are pleased that their Royal Highnesses will be able to see the hard work of our team, who provide a high-quality service.
“The impact of the City of Culture celebrations has already been seen not only in Hull, but in the Humber region as a whole, and we look forward to the anticipated boost to the local economy and the region’s reputation. This can only provide a long-term benefit in increasing the number of visits to the Humber area - with royal visits like this helping to achieve that – and Humberside Airport is doing its part to help boost those visitor numbers.”
Humberside Airport provides both domestic and international services to the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. The airport has undergone recent redevelopment of its facilities to ensure that it continues to provide a high-quality service to its customers and the development of the new Hampton by Hilton Hotel nearby is set to increase the range of amenities available to customers. It is the focus on customer service and infrastructure redevelopment which has seen a growth in the number of Charter Operators who use the airport on a regular basis.
